That is exactly what you can expect to enjoy from Chamonix Toy poodles! However, not only are these Toy Poodles beautiful... they are intelligent and loving sweethearts as well. I have had an interest in the breed for many years. My poodles and I have tons of fun participating in many events such as: Krewe of Barkus, Mardi Paws, Woofstock, and AKC events such as obedience, agility and the conformation ring. I hope to have many champions over the next several years. I am also a member of the Delta Pet Therapy Society and Versatility in Poodles, Inc.
Chamonix Farms is located on 3 beautiful acres in Hammond, Louisiana. I absolutely love all of my Poodles, and consider them to be my children. NO kennels here! All Chamonix Poodles enjoy the very best that life has to offer them... and some. While Chamonix Poodles will sleep in there own crate at night (the front door has been removed), they are never cruelly confined to cages or exercise pens. Poodles think they are little people and expect you to allow them access to all parts of your home and lives. Treating such an intelligent and social breed any differently completely defeats the purpose of sharing your life with a Poodle!
All of the dogs you see on this site are Optigen A by Parentage, and a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist updates CERF eye exams yearly. We test for Patellar Luxation and findings are registered with OFA. Test results can now be viewed online in the CHIC database. It is important that you know the Health Concerns that affect the breed you are interested in, and even more important, that you purchase your puppy from a breeder that makes health screening a top priority. Each sire and dam is also a part of the AKC DNA Profile Database. They receive frequent examinations to insure top physical condition, are permanently micro chipped, are treated with Sentinel heartworm preventive and also treated with Comfortis just in case of any fleas. They are professionally groomed every week and frequently enjoy "spa" treatments such as messages and manicures. They eat the Royal Canine Toy Poodle formula often mixed with Purina's beef and vegetable medley, and drink purified water only.
Breeding for health, beauty, intelligence, and personality are the top priority. I will always try to produce the ideal dog as described in the AKC Standard for the Poodle. All puppies are hand-raised under-foot with the best care possible. With that said, I will only have pet and show quality puppies available on occasion to approved homes only. All puppies will be at least 20 weeks old before they leave here. They will be fully groomed, potty trained, basic obedience trained, AKC registered, micro chipped and fully vaccinated by a veterinarian. You will receive a starter kit which includes: AKC papers, your puppies laminated pedigree, all vet records, microchip information, helpful "how to" puppy information, photos of your puppy and parents, a bag of food, a custom baby blanket, a crate and a favorite toy.
